YUMMY!

went to the tin table last night for dinner and it was awesome! zero parking so remember to pack your patience pants if you give it a try, but the food will not disappoint. i mean how can you go wrong with truffle oil french fries and a steak topped with bacon, blue-cheese butter?

pearl

went to pearl last night. it's a new restaurant in bellevue and it was AWESOME! it made me think of my sweet friend, melissa. i had the steak, which was amazing and the house salad. so yummy! a little on the salty side but i don't mind that. it's also a little spendy, but i'll definitely be going back.

yummy, yummy goodness!

went to another GREAT restaurant last night. it's called marcello's and it's on roosevelt up here in the city. it was sooooooo good! i had the pollo valtellina which is a fancy way of saying boneless chicken covered and baked with provolone cheese, prosciutto, mushrooms, almonds, and a cream sauce. all of my favorite things! meat and cheese covered with more meat and cheese. i died and went to food heaven. i can't wait to go there again!

pair...

checked out a little place called 'pair' last night. if you love cheese ~ who doesn't, right? ~ then you'll like this place. my main dish wasn't that great (the nightly special which was supposed to be fettucini but it lacked any form of heavy cream, a staple in my mind) BUT the fondue was amazing. our waitress said it was cambozola, which had the slight flavor of blue cheese. it was yummy and i guess you can buy it as is from the store, so i'm going to have to pick some up!

i almost forgot...again.

i realized i haven't been keeping up on my restaurant reviews, so here are a few quick mentions:
  • bick's broadview grill ~ YUM! it's in a really weird location but the food is excellent.
  • piatti ~ in u-village. one word boring. not horrible, but absolutely NO flavor in my pasta dish.
  • smash wine bar ~ DEEE-LISH! the yukon gold “Pot- Tots” cakes were to DIE for!
  • eva ~ really yummy grilled pancetta and cheese. a little on the salty side, though, even for me!
  • oliver's twist ~ can you say garlic truffled popcorn? SOOOO good, but you only need a handful because it's really rich.
  • sonrisa ~ also in u-village and the shrimp quesadilla was amazing.

i think that's it for now. looking forward to going back to a few of these, maybe with some of my favorite yohann, keen, mahlum, lamb ladies?

Lunchbox Laboratory

went to another new restaurant last night. it's called the Lunchbox Laboratory and it was AWESOME! well, at least the food was. it's a small shack in ballard, with only 2 tables inside. they blast the AC to get you on your way and the burgers are $15...BUT totally worth it. they call them '11 napkin burgers.' i'll definitely go back but not until this summer when i can sit in one of the many tables outside. YUM-ME!

How to Cook a Wolf

went to another new restaurant and yes, it really is called How to Cook a Wolf, named after a book. it was AWESOME!! here are some other reviews that also sing the praises of HTCAW. i had the angolotti with chard, ricotta, and pine nuts covered in a butter and oil sauce ~ WOW! the crab fettuccine was good and our appetizer ~ the scallop dish ~ was also excellent! i would definitely recommend this place, but it is small and very popular so plan accordingly. yum, yum!

i almost forgot...

ate at another new restaurant. all the girls came up for aunt lynn's birthday (happy b-day, lynn honey!) and we ate at pasta bella on queen anne. very yummy italian food. i really enjoyed the pesto mozzarella bread! it came highly recommended to me, and now i'm passing it along.

another yummy Seattle restaurant. this one is in my neighborhood. it's small but very reasonably priced. GOOD BBQ!

Trellis

went to another new restaurant last night. this one was in kirkland in the new hotel. it's called trellis. cool atmosphere, great wine selection and good service. i think the food was good ~ i have a nasty cold and can't taste anything ~ and according to my dining partners, they said it was excellent. my tomato soup was just 'okay.'

FOOD!

okay, so i belong to a little dinner group where we try a new restaurant every month that none of us have been to. sounds tough right? not in this city! there are a ton of great restaurants. this week, we went to tulio. it was really good (great atmoshphere, really cozy, great service, moderately priced, downtown) and i would definitely recommend it. THEN, last night i went to dinner with a bunch of friends at bizzaro, located in wallingford, and it was great, too! authentic italian food and really good wine! again, i would totally recommend it. i'll try to keep this blog updated with all the restaurants i go to, and let you know what i think so the next time you're trying to find a new place, you can come here for suggestions.
